Cool Companies Doing Cool Things

Kitz is nestled in the hills of the Tweed Valley, in northern NSW. We count ourselves blessed on the daily that we are surrounded by other creative companies who are just as passionate about health, community, and giving back as we are.

We could share countless companies who inspire us (some of whom we are lucky to call our neighbours), but for now, here are just five of the companies we want you to know about.

Kindness Bar
@kindnessbar ~ www.kindnessbar.com

Kindness is their name and they wear it well. This company sees the importance not only in creating a consciously healthy bar that tastes good for us humans, but in making the planet a better place for the animals too. That's why they donate 50% of their profits to animal conservation organisations that care for rhinos, koalas, and orangutans.

This family of three (Jake, Nikki and little Nina) are a true grass roots family who have built, their business from the ground up. Jake, the head maker, has been crafting his own blends of muesli for 13 years now. The family crafts their muesli and granola by hand, and use the best consciously sourced ingredients to ensure they provide the highest quality muesli and granola for optimal health. They believe in the source of our food being cared for, and aim to use entirely organic and spray free ingredients. They are 100% plant based, source locally as much as possible, and use no oils, fats, preservatives or additives.

In Mexico, food is the great unifier. It breathes life into the busy streets, brings warmth to the family home, and is what generations gather around a table for to share stories and laughter. Founders of Doña Cholita, Jefte and Joey, have recreated the time-honoured recipes of their heritage so that Australian's can discover the heart and soul of Mexican culture and cuisine. They make organic corn tortillas and totopos (corn tortilla chips) using the simplest ingredients: organic maize flour and filtered water. That's it.

Garden of Vegan was started by five humble Aussies, empowered with a passion for whole food plant-based nutrition. Their mission is to help educate their fellow Australians on what is truly the greatest medicine: the food we eat. They created Australia’s first ready-made meals, and all from 100% certified organic ingredients, completely oil-free, vegan and gluten free. They’re up at 4am at their certified organic farm where they're picking fresh produce that goes straight from the ground and into their kitchen. They wash everything in filtered water and their menu has been designed to offer the widest range of micronutrients to make your body truly thrive. They haven’t cut any corners because they believe that your health, and the health of our planet, is of the utmost importance. Did we mention they make delicious meals? That's pretty important to know.

Made with Raw Love
@madewithrawlove ~ www.madewithrawlove.com.au

This company is serious about creating healthy chocolate. That’s the main reason we love them. Chocolate as medicine? Yep, we’re in. Seriously though, since 2012, Made with Raw Love has been making chocolate and elixirs full of uniquely chosen ingredients and superfoods that have been developed for their healing superpowers and taste. They only use ingredients that are raw, organic, native and wild. Their cacao is organic, raw, hand harvested, fermented and sun-dried so to retain its full nutritional and antioxidant qualities. The outcome of the love that they pour into their craft is that they have chocolate and elixirs that boast of the ability to make you glow, boost your immune system, sharpen your brain, give you energy, and comfort your heart. Take a look at the ingredients and you might just believe its true.
